CIA-led Coup
In a bizarre behind-the-scenes struggle, elements of the CIA not in cahoots
with the Bush/Cheney agenda try to manufacture a Psychological Operations
war to bring down the president. They start by leaking top-secret documents
that prove Bush knew about 9/11 and he was driven to war in Iraq not to
get rid of weapons of mass destruction or ties to terrorists but to secure
Middle Eastern oil.

Wars:
American Secret History from Hitler to Al Qaeda says the White House’s
corruption of intelligence has caused the greatest foreign policy catastrophe
in modern U.S. history as well as sparked a civil war with the nation’s
intelligence agencies. This could lead to the not-so-unthinkable: a Bush impeachement
trial.
The U.S. is now waging three wars, says Powers. One is in Iraq. The second is
in Afghanistan. And the third is in Washington – an all-out war between
the White House and the nation’s own intelligence agencies. He charges
that the Bush administration is responsible for what is perhaps the greatest
disaster in the history of U.S. intelligence. “From failing to anticipate
9/11 to pressuring the CIA to produce bogus justifications for war, from abusing
Iraqi prisoners to misrepresenting the nature of Iraqi insurgence, the Bush White
House, the Pentagon, and the intelligence agencies they corrupted, coerced or
ignored have made extraordinarily grave errors [that] could threaten our national
security for years. By manipulating intelligence and punishing dissent while
pursuing an extreme foreign policy agenda, Bush leaders have set spy against
U.S. spy and deeply damaged America’s intelligence capabilities.”10
Others have
chimed in: The CIA, which is rather quite good at elaborate planning and
creation
of plots to subdue “enemies of the state,” has laid
a trap (with a long paper trail of evidence) for Bush and company, who have gladly
marched right into it. The recent resignation of CIA director George Tenet and
his deputy are the first active steps in springing that trap. Now that these
two are simply “civilians,” they’re free to legally testify
against a currently sitting administration in the impeachment trial that will
rise up from this debacle.11
This may be the wildest theory, but who knows? It’s pretty safe to guess
that any impeachment proceeding may not proceed until after the 2004 election
is over. If the Democrats call for impeachment this summer, the Bush team will
claim it’s a conspiracy against them (admittedly, with good reason). It’ll
be easy for the Republicans to bully Kerry and perhaps mobilize the unvoting
republican and independent voting blocks to turn out in force. If the smear campaign
against Kerry doesn’t work, the Bush team will lean toward other October
surprise scenarios and combinations.
Diebold Election Systems Fixes the Vote in Battleground States
Vote scams
and rigging have been commonplace in America – the last
election proves how easy it is to manipulate voting records and officials
if you have
the right connections. Serious and legitimate concerns are already arising
over possible vote rigging in the U.S. due to the number of electronic voting
machines
supplied from Diebold, whose board of directors have all donated thousands
of dollars toward Republican elections and are otherwise known for their
links to
the Republican party.12
Diebold machines
leave no verifiable audit trail and are therefore wholly dependent on the
electronic
programming provided by the
company. In fact CEO Walden O’Dell told Republicans in a recent fund-raising
letter that he is “committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes
to the president next year.”13
Besides that unusually bold statement, according to “How to Hack an Election,” from
the January 31 issue of the New York Times, “Concerned citizens have been
warning that new electronic voting technology being rolled out nationwide can
be used to steal elections. Now there is proof. When the State of Maryland hired
a computer security firm to test its new machines, these paid hackers had little
trouble casting multiple votes and taking over the machines’ vote-recording
mechanisms….’It was an ‘easy matter,’ they reported,
to reprogram the access cards used by voters and vote multiple times….
“
Maryland’s 16,000 machines all have identical locks on two sensitive mechanisms,
which can be opened by any one of 32,000 keys. The security team had no trouble
making duplicates of the keys at local hardware stores, although that proved
unnecessary since one team member picked the lock in ‘approximately 10
seconds....’
“
The Maryland study confirms concerns about electronic voting that are rapidly
accumulating from actual elections. In Boone County, Ind., last fall, in a particularly
colorful example of unreliability, an electronic system initially recorded more
than 144,000 votes in an election with fewer than 19,000 registered voters, County
Clerk Lisa Garofolo said. Given the growing body of evidence, it is clear that
electronic voting machines cannot be trusted until more safeguards are in place.”14
Would the Bush camp resort to electronic vote rigging if it could get away with it? Of course.
U.S. Opens a New War Front
The possibilities are endless. Escalation in Israel, Iran, or Saudi Arabia
is possible.
If Iran continues
to develop nuclear weapons, the administration may call for air strikes
on facilities. Israel may attack Iran, Syria, or
a half dozen
other middle-eastern countries to “defend” itself from terrorist
or suspected nuclear power plants. The U.S. volunteers to help kill more
civilians. Other scenarios include massive civil unrest as a war of secession
breaks out in Saudi Arabia. Elements of the Saudi royal family (friends with
the bush royal family, remember) ask for help to protect oilfields. Should
the “wrong” Saudi faction gain power, the neo-Cons go into
preemptive war mode. The new war is preceded by ghastly attacks against
the U.S., and
Saudi-funded groups take many U.S. civilians hostage. These attacks give
excuses for the Bush team to intervene by sending in the Special Ops
groups to rescue them. Proof that Saudis widely fund terrorism is unveiled,
and
Bush responds by invading and securing the oilfields. Saudi bases are
reopened and we occupy the Saudi capitol.

Are the gloves about to come off? A briefing paper presented to the Pentagon’s
Defense Policy Board on July 10th (and leaked to the Washington Post) was
as critical of the country as it is possible to get. It described Saudi Arabia
as an enemy of the United States—‘the kernel of evil, the prime
mover, the most dangerous opponent’ in the Middle East. ‘The
Saudis are active at every level of the terror chain,’ it argued, ‘from
planners to financiers, from cadre to foot-soldier, from ideologist to cheerleader.’ It
recommended that American officials give the House of Saud an ultimatum:
stop backing terrorism, or face a seizure of your oilfields and your
financial assets in America.“
