Operation: Summer of Love PSA Campaign

The Office of Fatherland Defense is proud to anounce its Operation Summer of Love Public Service Announcement campaign.
As part of our effort to rebrand and reorganize our efforts in Defending Freedom, providing Security to Americans, and rooting out Terror in the Fatherland, the OFD is looking to graphic designers, agencies and artists to communicate several concepts via a low intensity poster campaign.

New Guidelines::
Posters may be 2 colors::
black
and red (or blue)

email submissions requests and RFPs to ed@lumpen.com You also need to email Director Ed "lalo" Mar to get the required OFD logo to insert on your poster.

Please choose an idea from one of the campaign ideas below or make up your own. We strongly emphasize that you make up your own.. Your goal is complex. It's to help citizens realise there are ways to defeat terror, reduce The Fear, question the authority of insane government policies, unveil coporate crime and stop the War on Civil Liberties at home.

We are suggesting these ideas as ones that speak volumes to us. As an Agent or Officer in the OFD you can take any stance you like as long as it folows our core mission in Defending Freedom, providing Security to Americans, and rooting out Terror in the Fatherland . The OFD will choose the best ten campaigns and print the results in a newsprint poster format. They will be distributed via Select or Lumpen magazine or be given away at Summer of Love Events. If our partnership comes thru we will also do limited run screen printed posters to be exhbited at the Buddy space, next to Heaven.

1. Snitch Culture bad
Children are taught to snitch on their pot smoking parents and to turn in their friends. Our sister agency , the FBI, has received over 500,000 tips related to terrorists since 9/11. We think this is an alarming sign of pervasavie Snitch culture.We fear the citizens are policing themselves a bit too much. We doubt many of the tips are related to the Saudi Arabian hijackers, but we'll never know.. Its a secret.
Communicate the idea that Americans everywhere are on the alert watching their fellow citizens to "keep them in line". This distrust in your neighbor is a negative behavior. Fight fear with love.

2. Nuclear bombs are bad. Stop the terror of Nuclear Proliferation. The US is the leading maker and distributer of weapons of mass destruction/. The US is also making "smart nukes" to kill terrorists. Huh? We think the "collateral damge" associated to this new nuke is a crime to humanity and should be stopped. Nuclear weapons are dangerous and uneccessary. Lets ban Nukes.

3. War On Corporate Terror
The recent Enron, Anderson, World Comm trading and accounting scandals have cost Americans Billions and will cost us even more. Wall Street is ripping off Main Street. We have to wage war on the Coporados that are fucking the little guy over. Coporate fraud is spreading insecurity and their economic terror must be checked.
Challenge: Create a poster to encourage citizens to Stop Corporate Criminals or hihglight the failure of Corporations to tell the truth.

4. Big Brother is watching, listening, and reading you.
Remind citiznes that everything they say and do is being recorded and digested by the Coporate Industrial Credit/Spying agency complex. the Echelon/ Magic lantern/NSA/CIA/FBI/ INS/VISA/American Express alliance brings us a Minority Report style total surveillance world.. Do we hide or destroy this system? (see #9)5. Join The Crusades!

6. War Of Terrorism
The War on terrorism is a War of Terrorism
The US is the leading worldwide user of terrorist tactics. From killing Native Americans with primitive biological warfare (small pox) to dropping the A-bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki to carpet and cluster bombing 500,000 non combatants durng the Viet Nam war in Laos (a neighboring neutral country) to assasinating elected leaders in South America, the US is a leading terrorist State. read the definitions:

7. We are all Illegal
Explore the reasons why humans can't cross borders but capital and products can. The system of Immigration Control is being revolutionized by the War on Terror. Institutionalization of racism and restricting human movement is a strategy to maintain and strengthen corporate power in a global system defended by the US led Empire. As people in the west are electing facist governments during a period of economic decline , blaming immigrants for our reduced standards of living, racism has become the scapegoat and immigration policy is the enforcer.
By ignoring the real problem: the rest of the world is the West's sweatshop, Citizens fail to realize their fate is controlled by the forces of globalization: transnational corporations. These very same elites buy elections and governments to promote their agendas and exploit the world's resources at any cost. Note: The Office of fFatherland Defense can get preachy.

8. Know your rights!
The ACLU has a campaign to let Americans know what rights they have left: promote a public campign for peopel to be aware of their rights..
The pamphlet -- “Know Your Rights: What to Do If You’re Stopped by the Police, the FBI, the INS or the Customs Service” -- contains information for citizens and non-citizens alike and is intended for those who feel at risk of becoming innocent targets of a government investigation in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
“The ACLU created the Know Your Rights pamphlets because we are concerned that many people, especially non-citizens, are not fully aware of their rights when being questioned or detained by the government,” said Anthony D. Romero, Executive Director of the ACLU.

9. CCTV BAD
Surveillance cameras CCTV are Invasive and Video surveillance will have a chilling effect on public life. The growing presence of public cameras will bring subtle but profound changes to the character of our public spaces. 
"When citizens are being watched by the authorities - or aware they might be watched at any time - they are more self-conscious and less free-wheeling.  As syndicated columnist Jacob Sullum has pointed out, "knowing that you are being watched by armed government agents tends to put a damper on things. You don't want to offend them or otherwise call attention to yourself."  Eventually, he warns, "people may learn to be careful about the books and periodicals they read in public, avoiding titles that might alarm unseen observers. They may also put more thought into how they dress, lest they look like terrorists, gang members, druggies or hookers."  Indeed, the studies of cameras in Britain found that people deemed to be "out of time and place" with the surroundings were subjected to prolonged surveillance. "
Advocating the destruction or elimantion of CCTV is a good idea.
